Citroën's DS series is one of the newest lines of European vehicles to come to China in recent years. In a report appearing today, China Economic Net reporting that the Citroën DS4 and DS5 will be imported to the country by the second quarter of 2012. 13 PSA dealers in nine cities have reportedly already gained official permission to begin developing sales channels for the new DS models.

The French manufacturer's second Chinese joint venture, will develop a fully independent sales network for the DS models after they are brought over to the country. The new JV hopes that with the help of the DS4 (pictured above) and DS5 (pictured below) it can gain a foothold in China's thriving luxury automobile market.

Dealers in Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen and Chengdu, Sichuan will be among the first to begin selling the DS models. The cars are expected to be available in 20 cities nationwide by the end of the year. According to Arnaud Ribault, general manager of Changan PSA's business division, work on bringing the DS brand to China is proceeding smoothly. Mr. Ribault promises that the JV will do its utmost to provide world class customer service for its customers.
